We are Caitlin and Gabe. Thanks for stopping-by our blog and do come again soon.

Our dancing partnership started in our first year at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2007. Over the years we have performed many duets, choreographed by various choreographers. We have performed together around Australia, in China, New Caledonia and soon Malaysia.

Over the last three years our practice has become much more intertwined. The majority of our work is with MakeShift Dance Collective but we also do a lot of work separately, including performing (Compagnie M.A.D.O),  co-choreographing (QL2 Centre for Youth Dance) and co-teaching contact technique (EDC).

The foundation of our practice rests on similar interests and focuses, both artistically and in life. We hope to continue to grow, diversify and challenge our practice, through our differences, held together by a great love and respect for each other.

We have created this blog to keep you up-to-date as we undertake an artistic residency at Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia. We are incredibly lucky and grateful to be supported by the Queensland Government, the Australia-Malaysia Institute, and Asialink through the University of Melbourne.

During our time here our plan is to: Take our ‘Seed’ (A short duet we choreographed and performed last year) and pull it apart; collaborate with a local artist (visual, music or other); investigate malaysian culture, ourselves, each other, the land that we are visiting and the land that we come from; put it all together to create a full length dance work, to be performed in MAP Festival, Melaka.

So keep checking back in for new blog posts and please keep in touch.
